CEA says a revised RES examination syllabus will apply to examinations from 1 January 2027. Candidates still need to complete the RES course with a CEA Approved Course Provider unless exempted, and the course-completion requirement includes at least 75% attendance. CEA also publishes sample examination questions and cautions that non-approved revision or coaching providers are not endorsed by CEA. Source: CEA, page last updated 2 June 2026.

So what for me? Passing the examination and becoming effective in the work are two different milestones. Exam preparation should build regulatory understanding; the career journey after that requires practical capabilities such as prospecting, client discovery, analysing a property situation, explaining options, following up and managing a transaction responsibly.

If you are considering the 2027 route, separate your journey into two missions: first become exam-ready using current official requirements; then become business-ready with a structured first-30/60/90-day plan. JerryLow.sg’s RES journey should help you see both without pretending that passing an exam guarantees career results.
